*What do you get for your money?
From the point of view of a ceremony guest, it may very well look like the
officiant is only providing a 15 - 30 minutes of service to the family, but the
reality is much more complex. Please consider the work and expense involved
in:
* In-person consultations
* Emails and phone calls
* Editing ceremony, reading and musical choices (and vows for
weddings)
* Coordinating schedules of the participants, especially if rehearsals
are involved
* Research for particular ceremony options (Current and over the years
of education and training, as with any professional)
* Ceremony preparation, proof-reading, private read-throughs,
updating, revisions, approval, last minute changes
* Travel time and waiting time before rehearsals
* The rehearsal itself
* Travel time and waiting time before the ceremony
* Calming nervous participants before the ceremony, if needed
* The ceremony itself (those ubiquitous 15-30 minutes)
* Being available to participants and guests following the ceremony
* Filing documents after the ceremony

Agreement to Officiate at Personalized Wedding

For a fee of ____________, a non-refundable deposit of $150.00 payable upon execution of this agreement (this holds your date and time) and the balance due one week prior to the wedding.
Travel expenses of 55cents per mile for a distance greater than 20 miles round trip.
The Client has been informed and fully understands that if a valid marriage license is not presented with government issued identification to the Officiant BEFORE the ceremony is performed, the Officiant cannot perform a legally valid marriage ceremony. A valid marriage license is due to be presented no later than 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the ceremony, or the Client must sign a waiver stating their understanding of the fact that any ceremony
performed without the presence of the license will be symbolic only and will not result in the Clients' legal status as husband and wife. In this eventuality, and at the sole discretion of the Officiant, a short, pre-written, civil ceremony chosen by the Officiant may be performed at a later date/time at the additional nominal charge of $75, plus any applicable travel fees depending on distance. The legal ceremony shall be performed on a weekday or weekday evening, according
to the availability of the Officiant. Any witnesses needed must be provided by the Client, and the ceremony must start promptly at the scheduled time, and not be attended by more than four guests, not including bride and groom.
In the event of cancellation by the clients, the deposit is non-refundable. If the cancellation is less than 48 hours prior to the event, the entire fee is due as contracted.
Fees Include:
________________ minute ceremony, unlimited ceremony script consultations and updates until the rehearsal; research & resource material; consultations with your musicians/DJ/photographer/videographer/wedding planner. I will arrive at least one-half hour before the ceremony.
You have final approval over the wedding ceremony script.

I will arrange a Celebrant replacement.
